We are looking to add a Process Excellence Leader to join our Strategy team in Waukee, IA. Candidates thrive in our environment when they harness their collaborative mindset, strong interpersonal communication skills, and a love of learning.

As the Process Excellence Leader, you will ready Holmes Murphy for fast growth and improved employee, client, and shareholder experience by guiding the organization towards the appropriate level of process maturity.  Support leaders, process owners, business analysts, and projects by serving as an internal expert, consultant, architect, educator, facilitator, trainer, and mentor. Lead efforts to support a consistent approach to process thinking, process management, and customer focused design at HMA, applying various methodologies and tools as appropriate to the situation, in keeping with organizational readiness.

Duties:

  • Communication: Educating organizational leaders and employees on the role process optimization and process management can play in enhancing customer experience, promoting innovation, improving efficiencies, maximizing performance, enriching jobs, and preparing the organization for continued profitable growth.
  • Planning: Working with Strategy team, business leaders and IT to determine the best approach and timing for process related efforts.
  • Facilitation: Working within business areas and cross functionally to map, analyze, and design, standardize, and optimize processes, promoting innovative approaches in alignment with strategic direction to improve processes both with and without technology.
  • Input Connectivity: Working with Strategy and other stakeholders to develop ongoing methods for Voice of Customer and Voice of Stakeholder input into process design.
  • IT Connectivity: Working with IT to identify opportunities for automation (i.e., RPA) and other technology enablement.
  • Data Connectivity:
    • Integration: Working with Data to ensure integration of data flows where appropriate.
    • Analysis: Developing approaches for the organization to analyze and measure process data in concert with organizational readiness.
    • Design: Using various forms of data and voices of customer to shape process design.
  • Training/Mentorship: Facilitating, co-facilitating, and/or training others on how to facilitate process standardization/ optimization sessions. Includes development of supporting tools.
  • Process Community Leadership: Serving as a Process Community lead for HMA, bringing together individuals interested in learning or applying process optimization techniques, such as Business Analysts, Project Managers, IT analysts, and operational leaders and employees, to provide governance, share learnings and best practices, and keep each other informed of efforts in progress.
  • Consistency: Supporting the establishment and governance of standards for mapping, analysis, process redesign, and process management to promote common terminology, ease of understanding, consistency in documentation and training, and successful implementation.
  • Process Measurement: Growing and support process management, working with business areas to establish process ownership, measures, continued Voice of Customer, and process governance.
  • HMA Process Framework: Acting as a central hub incorporating high level processes into a master model as the organization grows.
  • Benefits Realization: Measuring and communicating the ROI of process optimization efforts.

  • A natural process thinker with an eye for seeing where customer value and satisfaction could be elevated, where efficiencies could be gained, where risks could be mitigated, and where scalability is important.
  • Exceptional training, facilitation, listening, and questioning skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to monitor and communicate status to senior leadership. Communicate and incorporate feedback from customers.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to develop effective relationships to build and maintain ongoing collaborative working relationships.
  • Strong, proven ability to positively influence without formal authority.
  • Strong organizational skills, with ability to manage multiple process projects simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical and problems solving skills.
  • Change management. Ability to navigate leaders and team members through change.
  • Ability to successfully plan and facilitate meetings to uncover and resolve issues, drive decision making, and keep objectives in focus
  • Ability to demonstrate professional maturity even in tough, complex, or emotionally charge situations
  • Must be knowledgeable of and comply with HMA’s Client Privacy Policy, HIPAA regulations and E&O procedures and policies.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree, Master’s preferred

Lean and Six Sigma certifications preferred.

Interest in learning more about the insurance industry and brokerage services, including how a private broker can offer unique and innovative solutions to our clients.

  • Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years process optimization, facilitation, and training/facilitation experience

2-3 years in project management experience.
