Established in 1932, Holmes Murphy has operated as a mission-focused enterprise committed to creating purposeful change — not just through individual, team, and corporate efforts, but also in collaboration with clients, business partners, and community members. At the root of Holmes Murphy’s core spirit is a culture that cares, which has made the last 93 years in business possible.

“Looking back on 2024, I am filled with gratitude. This past year, our 1,200+ employees came together to amplify our impact, not just in the communities where we live and work, but also by fully embracing the tools and opportunities provided by our Holmes Murphy Foundation,” said Dan Keough, Holmes Murphy Chairman and CEO.

“Since 1932, we’ve built a company that thrives on community, innovation, and a deep commitment to ‘paying it forward,’” said Tom Stewart, PLUS President and Holmes Murphy Foundation Executive Sponsor. “This philosophy has given us the agility and independence to make decisions that prioritize what’s best for our employees, clients, communities, and the industry at large. What truly sets Holmes Murphy apart is our employees and their commitment to a culture of care — we love what we do and who we do it with.”

Holmes Murphy continued its efforts to embed the principles of being committed to create a workplace where everyone feels valued, included, and empowered to reach their unique potential.

In 2024, Holmes Murphy’s Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) were pivotal in promoting a sense of belonging and community. The ERGs organized a variety of cultural events, educational workshops, and networking opportunities, highlighting greater understanding and reinforcing their commitment to inclusivity.

“We also set out to do more than just make a difference — we aimed to create spaces where every voice is heard, every person is valued, and every idea has the power to spark change,” said Stewart.

In addition to regular giving, Holmes Murphy also believes that a thriving workplace starts with an inspiring environment. That’s why the company is committed to investing in its local communities by partnering with talented artists, skilled contractors, and dedicated tradespeople to transform the company’s spaces into vibrant, functional, and welcoming areas for its employees.

“From stunning murals and custom installations by local artists to high-quality craftsmanship in flooring, lighting, cabinetry, painting, and the list goes on, we prioritize working with local businesses that bring expertise and passion to every project,” said Keough.

Holmes Murphy is also deeply committed to transforming the insurance industry through positive, innovative change. Innovation isn’t just about technology — it’s about people. That’s why the company takes a community-driven approach to transformation, bringing together brokers, carriers, insurtech startups, investors, and its own employees to shape the future of insurance. Through Holmes Murphy’s co-founding of BrokerTech Ventures (BTV), the company has created a powerful ecosystem where collaboration fuels progress. The result? Smarter solutions, reduced risks, and a stronger, more resilient industry that benefits everyone.

“Every day, our employees do phenomenal work, our clients achieve meaningful successes, and our communities continue to inspire us. We remain committed to uplifting them all,” said Keough. “And let’s not forget the insurance industry — filled with dedicated professionals, like our own employees, making a real difference in people’s greatest time of need. What could be better than that? We can’t wait to celebrate it all in 2025, so stay tuned!”
