A key workplace health solution that is often discussed among employers is the idea of normalizing conversations – and disclosures – about mental health at work. Sadly, however, there can be real career consequences and barriers to putting that idea into practice – especially in industries that demand high performance and/or a high degree of confidentiality. Three industries – tech, the military, and construction – are illustrative examples of such high-risk, low-transparency workplace environments.
