Event Schedule
7:30 a.m. Check-in and breakfast
8 - 11:45 a.m. Workshop
Behavioral health is a hidden crisis in the construction industry. Data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) identifies the construction industry as a high-risk industry for mental health and suicide prevention. The National Safety Council confirms the construction industry has a high prevalence of substance misuse and substance use disorder. Behavioral health claims constitute a growing percentage of claims and dollars in both Workers Compensation and Employee Benefit programs.
This workshop will provide a blueprint for what construction leaders need to support the mental health and well-being of their employees. Three interactive presentations will outline practical and actionable steps to help construction contractors and stakeholders reach their workers and their families with resources and tools to address various workforce behavioral health challenges, including, but not limited to stress, burnout, anxiety, depression, alcohol and substance misuse, addiction treatment and recovery, as well as suicide and overdose prevention.
This program qualifies for 4 hours of CPE.
