2020 East Central Iowa Safety and Health Conference
Kirkwood Community College; 6301 Kirkwood Blvd. SW; Cedar Rapids, IA 52404
Join us for the 9th annual East Central Iowa Safety and Health Conference where our own Joshua Jacobsen, Holmes Murphy Sr. Loss Control Consultant, will be presenting on “Influencing Organizational Risk.”
Presentation Information
An effective safety program has the power to influence the quality and efficiency of, as well as impact, an organization’s work climate.
Steve Jobs was quoted as saying “That’s been one of my mantras — focus and simplicity. Simplicity can be harder than complex. You have to work hard to get your thinking clean to make it simple. But it’s worth it in the end because once you get there, you can move mountains.”
In this presentation, Joshua will explain various techniques, barriers, and programs that influence the success of an organization’s safety culture. He’ll discuss strategies of becoming a learning organization that can adapt to the struggles of managing an inexperienced workforce and countering the complacency found in some of the most experienced employees.
All attendees will walk away with a plan of action to improve their organization as we focus on the construction industry and discuss the top five safety program initiatives the construction industry, and frankly any industry, just can’t ignore. They’ll not only drive down your failures and incidents, but they’ll also make your organization more profitable and desirable (and one people want to work with)!
