Managing Fatigue in Construction

Fatigue has largely been accepted as the nature of the construction industry. The work is physically demanding and often performed in challenging, high-pressure environments due to accelerated schedules and worker shortages. Additionally, other risk factors such as out-of-town work, long commutes, and worker lifestyles influence and compound the effects of fatigue. Contractors recognize the physical exhaustion experienced by construction workers, but how well do they recognize the impact that fatigue has on mental health?
