Our Holmes Murphy and Innovative Captive Strategies teams recently partnered to launch Bluestem Insurance Group, an Iowa-based Series LLC group captive facility and one of six captives licensed in the state. According to Jeff Wilson, captive insurance director, Iowa Insurance Division at the Iowa Department of Insurance and Financial Services, the launch of Bluestem Insurance Group is significant. “Brokers, lawyers, actuaries, auditors – all need to be utilized by these captives, so it’s very good for the state to attract these captives to your own state,” Wilson said.
