CSDZ Seminar: The Crisis of Marijuana in Construction

Event Schedule
July 25
9:30 a.m. - 12 p.m. CT
*Lunch to follow.
As the marijuana crisis grows in the construction industry, so do the concerns about the evolving risk and the impact on workplace safety. A fun little fact about Colorado (the first state to legalize marijuana) — it is estimated that there are more marijuana dispensaries than Starbucks, 7-Elevens, and McDonalds combined! As more states legalize marijuana (currently eight), there will be an inherent increase to the risk exposure for construction, leaving contractors with many questions on how to tackle this challenge.
Please join us, along with our speaker William Judge, with the Drug Screening Compliance Institute, for an in-depth discussion on the rapidly changing marijuana state law landscape (“Recreational” vs. “Medical”) and the complex challenges contractors are facing. This seminar will discuss four key areas:
- Overview of the current national issues, trends, and cases that are driving the marijuana landscape across the United States.
- Overview and deep-dive into the Minnesota marijuana law and its impacts on contractors.
- Minnesota’s “Drug and Alcohol Testing in the Workplace Act” – How this can impact contractors doing work across the country.
- Understand how a well-crafted drug & alcohol policy is imperative to protect your company.
Please Note: Lunch will follow the seminar.
