Program Management Intern, ICS

Are you a current student looking to gain professional experience working alongside a team of client service professionals and business partners? We are seeking candidates for a Program Manager Intern in our Captive Consulting division of our Waukee, IA office. Ideal candidates will be available to work up to 38.75 hours per week during summer months.

Don’t worry if you don’t know anything about insurance, this specific role and our summer program curriculum is designed to provide a comprehensive learning experience that allows you to explore multiple facets of the ever-changing industry.

Summer Internship Program components include:

TEAMWORK – Each intern is assigned a department and team to support throughout the summer. A typical intern workload is a mix of day-to-day responsibilities and projects.

INTERN U – Intern University is a presentation series held each week to teach interns about our different departments and subsidiaries, and the role they play within the company.

GROUP PROJECTS – Interns are put on a team of 4-6 and are challenged with a real business need. As a group, they work over the course of the program to find a solution and present their proposal to Holmes Murphy leadership at the end of the summer.

VOLUNTEERING – Holmes Murphy strives to “Give.Fully.” in the communities we are present in, and we expect the same from our interns! We like to get out of the office at least one or two times a summer and give back an organization that the group proposes.

ICS Program Manager Intern Duties:

  • Provide support to our Program Management team and Business Partners by:
    • Learn how to use our ICS Management System (CORE)
    • Assist with processing Invoice Approvals, running reports, prep presentation material for Board Meetings, and additional projects as needed
    • Shadowing on virtual or in-person client meetings

  • Ability to work well with a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).

Qualifications:

  • Current undergraduate student pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Finance, Management, or Risk Management & Insurance, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Prior work experience is a plus, preferably in a customer service, insurance, or administrative role.
  • Availability to work full-time hours in the summer is required.
