Integrated Benefits Specialist, Avant

Avant is looking to add an Integrated Benefits Specialist to join the Arkansas Children’s team. Candidates thrive in our environment when they harness their collaborative mindset, strong interpersonal communication skills, and a love of learning. This role is based in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Responsibilities:

  • Process client employee enrollments as outlined in their agreements with Avant and Arkansas Children’s.
  • Provide telephonic support for employees to include managing enrollment appointments, new hire onboarding, qualifying life events, eligibility, and general service inquiries.
  • Provide in person support for employees to include new hire orientation and onboarding support, managing enrollment appointments, qualifying life events, eligibility, and general service inquiries.
  • Ensure quality assurance and data entry accuracy
  • Act as Service Advocate for employees and the dedicated HR team.
  • Support and develop processes that allow for increased efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Work with appropriate vendors and/or internal resources to assure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Develop, document and have detailed product knowledge and underwriting guidelines.
  • Navigation and election capture in various benefit administration systems for dedicated client.
  • Participate in enrollment trainings to ensure all pertinent information is gathered to successfully meet expectations.
  • Document case specific information so that enrollment team will be able to utilize when applicable.
  • Collaborate with internal and external resources to ensure flow and accuracy of Call Center activity and/or cases, including setting enrollment appointments and benefit summaries in preparation for Open Enrollment.
  • Assist internal team, clients and brokers with special projects as requested.
  • Employ Avant, broker and client policies and procedures to execute all job-related responsibilities.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to work with detail, follow directions and maintain a high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to use a personal computer utilizing various software packages including, but not limited to, Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Ability to learn various benefit administration systems to capture employee enrollment data.
  • Possess excellent communication skills displaying professional telephone etiquette.
  • Ability to set work priorities, manage calendar daily and mange workflow effectively.
  • Possess a strong work ethic and dependability.
  • Knowledge of employee benefits and general health insurance terminology.
  • Ability to work well with others as well as independently.
  • Is multi-tasked oriented and prioritizes work, voluntarily extends hours, and/or solicits additional resources when necessary to ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Must be able to work effectively as a team.
  • Ability to maintain a professional appearance.
  • Ability to provide own transportation.
  • Must be knowledgeable of and comply with broker/client Privacy Policy, HIPAA regulations and E&O procedures and policies.
  • Ability and willingness to consistently participate in internal and external educational opportunities to enhance knowledge of current insurance topics or relevant system improvements.
  • Ability and willingness to pursue continuing education courses, as appropriate.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma required; college degree preferred. Active state specific Life & Health Insurance agent’s license required or the ability to acquire license within three months of hire.
  • Experience: Three or more years of HR, Employee Benefits and/or customer service experience required. Knowledge of and experience with benefit plans and administration a plus. Telephonic customer service experience is a plus. Bilingual capabilities (both written and verbal) considered a plus, but not required
