We are looking to add a Communication Consultant to join our Employee Benefits team in Dallas, TX. Candidates thrive in our environment when they harness their collaborative mindset, strong interpersonal communication skills, and a love of learning.

Duties:

General

  • Serve as primary Holmes Murphy communications expert on select client accounts.
  • Interact directly with clients and internal stakeholders on leading out the planning, pitching and execution of communication strategies and work plans.
  • Draft, review, edit, and proofread content as a member of the Comm Team.
  • Coordinate internal, technical, legal, and client review of communication deliverables—seeing projects through to timely completion. Resolve issues raised during the review process to ensure accuracy and effectiveness.
  • Coordinate project management, graphic design direction, and production with vendors and other resources. Assist with project management on large assignments.
  • Ensure project tasks are completed, and client deliverables are produced meeting client’s expected timelines.
  • Analyze, report and provide observations driving success of multi-channel client communication campaigns.
  • Obrain and continue building knowledge of Holmes Murphy strategic differentiators and healthcare ecosystem.
  • Actively participate in the development and enhancement of the communications deliverables to maintain market competitiveness.
  • Make suggestions for potential improvements to internal and external processes, workflow management.
  • Monitor industry trends and identify communications tools to build multi-channel employee benefit communications campaigns (including but not limited to digital communications, website development and video hosting).

Vendor Relationships

  • Maintain consistent partnerships with best-in-class communication vendors, their deliverables and differentiators in order to confidently make recommendations to clients.
  • Effectively manage communications vendors on delivery of client materials.
  • Update Comm Team on vendor product changes, expansions, etc.

Internal Relationships

  • With direction from Communications Director, serve as internal expert on communications practices.
  • Advocate for career growth opportunities.
  • Ask questions to grow knowledge, understanding of effective employee benefits communication strategies as well as healthcare ecosystem and national healthcare trends.
  • Assist with onboarding of new Communication team members.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong interpersonal, client relationship, and presentation skills with a collaborative business style.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Superior, demonstrable technical and persuasive writing skills; advanced editing, proofreading, and composition skills.
  • Solid web communication skills (content development, site design/flow).
  • Ability to work well in team environment as well as independently.
  • Experience working with graphic designers to craft the “look and feel” of communication elements to meet client brand standards.
  • Strong command of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle concurrent multidimensional projects and tasks in a client-focused work environment, voluntarily extend hours and/or solicit additional resources when necessary to ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Must be knowledgeable of and comply with HMA’s Client Privacy Policy, HIPAA regulations, and E&O procedures and policies.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in English, communication, journalism, marketing, human resources, or related field of study preferred; Advanced degree is preferred.
  • Experience: 5-7   communications experience, including at least 3 years in the Healthcare Industry/Employee Benefits field.
