CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (October 12, 2017) – Holmes Murphy has announced its partnership with Variety – the Children’s Charity to donate 25 bicycles to children in need. The bicycles, built by Holmes Murphy employees, were distributed to children in the Cedar Rapids area through Waypoint and Witwer Children’s Therapy. The donation will help give underprivileged children the opportunity to spend quality time biking with family and friends.
“At Variety, we cherish childhood memories of bike riding and are excited for these kids to make their own memories. Every child deserves the amazing experience that comes with riding a bike,” said JJ Trotta, Eastern Iowa Director for Variety. “We thank Holmes Murphy for their generous donation in making the dream of owning a bike a reality for these kids.”
Employees at Holmes Murphy came together earlier this week to build the standard bikes by hand, sharing the bikes with the children throughout the day on Oct. 12.
“The team at Holmes Murphy is honored to have been able to bring joy to children through this contribution,” said Holmes Murphy Vice President and Market Leader Kari Cooling.
The donation came as part of Holmes Murphy’s United Way campaign that began on Oct. 9, 2017.
