Paula Dixon Joins Structural Engineering Certification Board
Paula Dixon, Senior Vice President with Holmes Murphy & Associates, has been invited to become a Stakeholder Member of the Structural Engineering Certification Board (SECB).
The SECB mission is to determine the level of unique and additional education, examination, and experience necessary to perform the science and art of structural engineering. The organization also provides a common national process for structural engineers to become certified and provides the public with an identification instrument that distinguishes an engineer with those unique and additional qualities necessary to perform structural engineering.
As Senior Vice President and National Practice Leader of the Wisconsin/ Illinois/Iowa Holmes Murphy offices, Dixon finds specialized risk management solutions to meet the challenges specific to her industry niche. With Holmes Murphy since 1991, Dixon is on the board of the Professional Liability Agents Network and is chairwoman of the Relationship Committee. She is also a board member of the Design Professionals Risk Control Group (DPRCG).
As an industry leader in risk management, Dixon has authored and delivered presentations to the American Institute of Architects, American Council of Engineering Companies, the Illinois Society of Professional Engineers, and numerous individual design firms. From time to time, she also guest teaches at local colleges and universities such as University of Illinois, Bradley University and Iowa State University.
