Holmes Murphy Make-A-Wish Golf Event Exceeds Expectations
SIOUX FALLS — August 16, 2011 — The annual Holmes Murphy Make-A-Wish Golf Event raised nearly $13,000 to help grant the wishes of terminally ill children. The event, now in its 10th year, has raised over $100,000 to help create an unforgettable experience for deserving children and their families. Since 1980, the Make-A-Wish Foundation has granted wishes and given hope and strength to children with life-threatening medial conditions.
In the last 10 years, Holmes Murphy has been able to help grant the wishes of 11 children.
One hundred golfers participated in the July 27 event. Each player was guided through an 18-hole round of golf at Brandon Municipal Golf Course where they had several opportunities to make donations including betting holes, purchasing mulligans, and a wish bowl.
