Jim Swift Becomes Chairman and CEO of Holmes Murphy® & Associates

DES MOINES, Iowa, Nov. 12, 2009 — James S. Swift has been named chairman and CEO of Holmes Murphy & Associates effective January 1, 2010.
Swift succeeds Doug Reichardt as chairman. Reichardt was recently named chairman emeritus as part of the organization’s planned leadership perpetuation strategy. No additional leadership changes are planned.
Swift joined Holmes Murphy in 1980 as an account executive. In 1988, he was named senior vice president of sales, and by 1993 he was leading the brokerage division of the company as president of Holmes Murphy Holding Company. Most recently he has served as president and CEO. During Swift’s tenure, Holmes Murphy has grown to the 24th largest risk management and insurance brokerage firm and the ninth largest among privately owned brokers in the United States.
As chairman and CEO, Swift will oversee Holmes Murphy’s growth plans, strategic acquisitions and regional divisions. His operational responsibilities include developing division and department revenue objectives and expansion of the diversified business platform.
In addition to Swift, Holmes Murphy’s executive leadership team is made up of Dennis Bishop, president — Holmes Murphy Texas, Jason Hellickson, executive vice president, and Dan Keough, executive vice president — Holmes Murphy and president, Innovative Captive Strategies, Inc.
