We are looking to add a Financial Analyst to join our Accounting team in Waukee, IA. Candidates thrive in our environment when they harness their collaborative mindset, strong interpersonal communication skills, and a love of learning.

This role will prepare, analyze and summarize financial data including the ability to draw conclusions and present financial insights to assist Brokerage Services Leaders in decision making.

This role will prepare, analyze and summarize financial data including the ability to draw conclusions and present financial insights to assist Brokerage Services Leaders in decision making.

Duties:

  • Prepare and maintain financial modeling and profitability analysis including preparation and oversight of the budgeting process, and financial forecasts
  • Create, maintain, and monitor business, customer and sales insights including production reports, producer splits, customer retention and other financial metrics.
  • Analyze budget to actuals, forecasts, and historical financial date including the review of financial and benchmarking metrics to insure compliance and provide insights into variances.
  • Utilize planning tools such as Adaptive Planning to prepare, present, and analyze financial information including assisting in the development and validation of new reporting tools, models and capabilities to aid in management decision making.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze financial date and present findings to senior leadership.
  • Perform audits and testing to ensure accuracy and compliance of agency data standards and coding of information in agency systems.
  • Assist with financial training to increase financial acumen of brokerage services personnel.
  • Perform special projects as identified by Finance or Brokerage Services leaders at their request.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Self-starter with a collaborative approach who values and encourages teamwork.
  • Strong financial acumen, keen attention to detail and strong problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to analyze and summarize financial data to draw conclusions and provide financial insights to management.
  • Capable of exercising discretion in confidential matters.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of computers and ability to utilize various software packages including, but not limited to: Excel, Word, Workday, and other accounting systems.
  • Ability to communicate well with persons at all levels of authority both verbally and in writing.
  • Is multi-tasked oriented and prioritizes work, voluntarily extends hours, and/or solicits additional resources when necessary to ensure timely completion of tasks.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required; Preferably in Finance, or Accounting and CPA or CFA designation a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum two years finance experience, preferably in the insurance industry.
